Discover The Roastery

Tucked into the busy commercial strip at 10/395 Warton Rd, Canning Vale WA 6155, Australia, The Roastery - 10/395 Warton Rd feels like the kind of café you stumble upon once and then quietly add to your regular rotation. I’ve been stopping by on and off for months-sometimes for a quick takeaway before work, other times for a slow brunch meeting-and what keeps pulling me back is the balance between serious coffee craftsmanship and relaxed diner comfort.

Let’s start with the coffee, because that’s clearly the heart of the place. The team doesn’t just pull shots; they pay attention to extraction time, grind consistency, and milk texture. According to the Specialty Coffee Association, ideal espresso extraction typically falls between 25 and 30 seconds, and you can taste that precision here. The crema is rich, the flavor layered-notes of chocolate and toasted nuts come through cleanly without bitterness. I once asked the barista about their beans, and she explained their roasting process in detail, including how slight temperature adjustments during roasting influence acidity and body. That kind of knowledge isn’t rehearsed; it’s lived.

Coffee culture in Australia is serious business. Data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics consistently shows that café and restaurant spending remains a significant part of household discretionary expenses, and places like this prove why. People aren’t just paying for caffeine-they’re paying for experience. The Roastery understands that. The aroma hits you before you even sit down, and the open layout lets you watch drinks being made, which adds to the authenticity.

The menu goes well beyond flat whites and long blacks. On my last visit, I ordered smashed avocado on sourdough with poached eggs and a side of smoked salmon. The eggs were done perfectly-firm whites, silky yolks. That might sound simple, but consistent poaching requires careful temperature control and fresh ingredients. I’ve also tried their breakfast wrap during a weekday rush, and it held up surprisingly well for takeaway-no soggy tortilla, just well-balanced fillings and a decent kick of spice.

For lunch, the burger options and hearty salads cater to both tradies from nearby worksites and office workers looking for something fresh. A friend of mine, who works in nutrition, pointed out that their portions are generous without being excessive, and the inclusion of leafy greens, lean proteins, and whole grains reflects current dietary recommendations from organizations like the World Health Organization regarding balanced meals. It’s diner-style food, but thoughtfully assembled.

Service is another strong point. In my experience, consistency is what separates a good café from a great one. I’ve visited during peak Saturday brunch and quiet midweek afternoons, and the staff remain approachable and efficient. Orders are clearly called out, tables are cleared promptly, and dietary requests-like swapping dairy milk for oat or almond-are handled without fuss. That reliability builds trust, and it shows in the steady stream of regulars.

Reviews across local platforms echo similar sentiments. Many customers highlight the friendly atmosphere and reliable coffee quality. While no venue is perfect-parking can get tight during busy hours-the overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive. It’s worth noting that busy periods may slightly extend wait times, especially on weekends, so planning ahead helps if you’re short on time.

Location-wise, being in Canning Vale makes it accessible for residents in surrounding suburbs as well as those commuting through Warton Road. It’s not a flashy inner-city café, but that’s part of its charm. The Roastery feels grounded in its community. You’ll see families sharing pancakes, business partners discussing projects over cappuccinos, and solo diners tapping away on laptops.

What stands out most to me is how the place blends technical skill with genuine hospitality. The roasting knowledge, the attention to brewing variables, the well-structured menu, and the steady service all come together naturally. It doesn’t try too hard to impress, yet it consistently delivers. For anyone searching for dependable coffee, satisfying brunch plates, and a welcoming local vibe in Canning Vale, this spot quietly earns its reputation through everyday excellence.

  • This is probably the best breakfast spot I’ve been to in a long time. The food is always fresh, tasty, and comes out quickly, even when it’s busy. The staff are super friendly. And most importantly — the coffee is amazing. I don’t know what the secret is, but it’s always so flavorful and aromatic. Maybe it’s the fresh beans. Thank you, guys — such a great place for breakfast. I’ll definitely keep coming back.

  • Great café with a huge space and a welcoming vibe. Service is fast, and the coffee is honestly one of the best in Perth. I had the big brekkie, which was absolutely scrumptious with a generous serving—definitely worth the price! Highly recommended and a must visit.

  • The Roastery's "Big Breaky" is a must-try for any breakfast enthusiast, and honestly, it's big enough to share! A special shout-out to the chefs for their perfectly poached eggs. They were a masterpiece—the whites were firm and held their shape beautifully, while the yolks were wonderfully runny, just waiting to burst and coat everything on the plate.

  • Needing a great coffee and on point food. Then look no further. Had a spare hour before work. In desperate need of a great coffee. Bonus Classic B n E English muffin with cheese, caramelised onion? & BBQ sauce. Was the BEST I have ever had. No joke. Crispy bacon, JAMMY egg, (who does that ) melt n texture was perfect. Attention to detail even on a simple dish like B n E muffin (Homemade?) Make a beeline for one of Canning Vales superb representation of all of the above. Luke & his team are faithfully serving this community and those like me, who is now out of zone . Come back even after an extensive absence and I am delighted that The Roastery is still nailing it with one swing! Buzzing local cafe ticking all my boxes today. Thanks Luke!
